Allyson Felix

Allyson Nicole Felix was born on November 18, 1985, in Los Angeles. Paul Felix served as an ordinand within Sun Valley at Master's Seminary. Marlean Felix taught at Balboa Magnet. Felix's athletic talent was apparent from the time she was enrolled at Los Angeles Baptist High School. A mere 10 weeks after the initial trial she took, she was ranked second for 200m at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003, Felix was a senior in high school signing a professional contract with the athletics company Adidas prior to matriculating at the University of Southern California where she was studying elementary education. Felix was awarded her first Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place in Athens Greece. She set a Junior World Record by taking 200m in 22.18 seconds. She was the youngest participant in the 200-meter race at the World Championships in Helsinki in 2005. She was able to defend her record once again in 2007, beating her long-time Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix was a frequent competitor in London, Beijing Rio de Janeiro, as well as Tokyo. She consistently placed at the top of the podium in all events.
