Julie Anne Smith, A.K.A. Julianne Moore has been a Hollywood writer and actor for a long time. Her work is also highly praised by reviewers. Sagittarius. Born in North Carolina December 3, 1960. She's the oldest of three children, and was the daughter of Peter Moore Smith who was an Army paratrooper. Her mother Anne works as a psychotherapist. She played the dual role as Sabrina Hughes and Frannie Hughes in As the World Turns that was her first major role. It ran through 1988, and she won the Daytime Emmy Award. The film she made her debut in 1990 with Tales from the Darkside: The Movie, which she later described as a shambles low-budget production. Short Cuts was produced by Robert Altman in 1993 and 3 Women was released in 1997. Her performance in the critically-acclaimed short-cuts (1993) brought her a number of nominations. Moore's first leading role was as a lead actress in Safe (1995). Steven Spielberg, who was director of Jurassic Park: The Lost World in 1997, and one of that year's biggest grossing movies, cast Moore as a lead actor. The actress received an SAG Awards nomination in Magnolia in 1999. In 2002 she co-starred in The Hours which got nominated for nine Academy Awards with Nicole Kidman as well as Meryl Streep.
